What is Foot Reflexology?
Foot reflexology is the study and practice of automatic body responses to finger pressure applied on specific areas of the feet that correspond to all parts of the body, top help the body attain/maintain its ideal balance. Reflexology is non-invasive, complimentary, natural, preventative, and is especially effective to induce relaxation and improve circulation to all organs of the body.
What is a Foot Reflexology treatment like?
Before beginning your first reflexology treatment, you will be asked to fill out a health record to help the reflexologist identify health problems that may be causing your symptoms. To begin the treatment, the reflexologist will cleanse your feet with a natural antiseptic solution. She will do some warm-up exercises to assess flexibility and promote relaxation. You will be asked to take some deep breaths and then your left foot will be wrapped in a towel while working with the right foot. The reflexologist will apply a small amount of oil to your foot (please advise if you have any allergies), then proceed to apply thumb and finger pressure to work the reflexes in a systematic covering the complete foot, ankle, and lower leg. The towel will then be transferred to the right foot and the left foot will be worked in the same manner.
Can I have Reflexology treatments if I am pregnant?
Unless especially trained for reflexology during pregnancy, most reflexologists will not treat someone who is pregnant during the first trimester. During the rest of the pregnancy, reflexology can help the body attend to its extra and normal functions and help relieve unpleasant symptoms associated with pregnancy. It also benefits the unborn baby. More specifically, the benefits of reflexology during pregnancy are the following:

- Helps mom relax
- Helps locally on sore, tired, and swollen feet and ankles.
- Promotes circulation of blood and lymph which can also benefit the baby.
